Now have multiple ScanSnaps for work. ScanSnap S510M Instant PDF Sheet-Fed Scanner Bought this S1300 for home having earlier given one to my daughter who started law school. It is good. It isn't quite as good as the more expensive S510 line. and, I presume, the newer S1500s Fujitsu ScanSnap S1500 Instant PDF Sheet-Fed Scanner for PC Fujitsu ScanSnap S1500M Instant PDF Sheet-Fed Scanner for the Macintosh On the other hand, this one is about $170 cheaper, and works on both PCs and Macs. If you need Adobe Acrobat Pro, get the more expensive model, knowing the version included, at least on the Amazon page as I write, is #8, and Adobe is obviously hoping you'll spring for one of their expensive version upgrades, they're past 9 to X. (They're still "supporting" AcroPro8, and it works just fine). Paper handling on the S510 (and, probably, S1500) is superior. If you do lots of scanning and can afford the $170, making the more expensive model the better choice. But for me, at home, the S1300 is good enough. At work where we frequently scan large documents, I'm glad to have the more expensive model. The lack of Acrobat is not a big deal. Most PDFs (on a Mac) can be spiffed up just fine with Apple's included Preview Application. Yet there's some work (saving fill in forms locally) for which Acrobat is all but a ...
